Kinnara |
Basic Info:
Gender: Female Age: 25 Species: Cat-Rabbit-Wolf Mix Sexuality: Bi-sexual Personality: Kinnara is a feisty little creature that has a big personality, though you may not think so when first meeting her. She’s terribly shy around new people, afraid both of being hurt and of being judged or shunned. Because of this, she may come off as snarky or rude because she’s too painfully shy to talk to people. Until she gets to know you, she will not open up. But once she does, you’ll find it hard to get her to stop talking. She’s extremely sarcastic, loves to make jokes and puns, and swears like a sailor. Some things she enjoys are reading, music, walking in nature, and talking with friends. Kinnara hates confrontation and will run from it. She doesn’t like drama and hates when people make her a part of it. She’s not good at standing up for herself, so she often gets walked over and used by people she thought were her friends. It’s because of this that she comes off shy at first. |
Backstory:
Kinnara grew up in the same lab that Idris did. She was an early science experiment that was progressively tested upon as she grew up. Her DNA is a mix of cat, wolf, and rabbit, with a few odds and ends threw in to give her her strange colors. The scientists were delighted to find that she was extremely receptive to DNA manipulation while being very hearty and able to rebound quickly from their experiments, and so they frequently tested new genes and ideas on her.
Having grown up her whole life in the lab, Kinnara had no idea there was an outside world until one of the other experiments broke out one day. That experiment was a blue wolf she had seen a few times through the bars of their cages. She was glad the wolf had escaped and started to think of ways she, too, could get away. Unfortunately, Idris had had a lot of help getting away, both from one of the daughters of the scientists and also a rabbit that appeared one night.
Saddened by the thought she might never make it to freedom, Kinnara was surprised when the daughter, Madea, appeared at her cage one day. The girl smiled at the poor little creature and began to whisper tales of the outside. When asked if she wanted to leave, Kinnara immediately stood up as fast as she could in her tiny cage and looked at Madea with expectant eyes. The human girl grinned feistily but shook her head. “Tonight is not the night. We’ve got to wait for the perfect opportunity, okay?” Kinnara was more than happy to wait a little while longer if it meant she could have true freedom.
One night about a week later, nothing seemed out of the ordinary and Kinnara was just settling down to sleep in the little corner of her cage. Suddenly, the door to her cage swung open and Madea was there beckoning frantically.
“Hurry, they’ve won some sort of prize and are all drinking themselves to sleep in the lounge! This is the perfect time.”
Kinnara immediately jumped down and tried to follow Madea, but she was so unused to walking long distances that the girl ended up cradling Kinnara in her arms and carrying her out into the freedom that Kinnara had been wanting for so long.
Emotionally worn out, Kinnara could only gape in wonder as Madea carried the little creature to the nearby woods. The trees were thick and it was dark beneath them, though the strange glowing from Kinnara’s eyes and markings helped illuminate the way. As they wandered, a dark shape appeared from the shadows and approached curiously. It was Idris. She had been wandering around the woods where she had escaped and was deep in thought.
Between Kinnara and Madea (who could oddly communicate with Idris), they explained what had happened and how Kinnara needed a safe place to live. Idris agreed and said she would take her to the world she had for her pack. Before they left, Idris and Kinnara made plans to see Madea again, for they were both exceptionally grateful for all her help.
Kinnara now resides in the forest of Ephera. She and Idris get along quite well and often talk about going back to save other creatures from the lab.
